31 Weeks

31 weeks and a blurry picture 🙂  I love the pictures with my chalkboard that I take sometimes, but by the end of the day sometimes its a little too much to ask to look put together enough to take a good belly picture !

Week 31 was by far the best I have had since entering the third trimester.  I was very active, got a lot accomplished, ate well, and just felt good overall.

Baby Girl

At 31 weeks along baby girl measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds, about the size of 4 navel oranges.   She is also heading into a growth spurt.  She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin.  She’s moving a ton, which keeps me up some nights, but its totally worth it.  I love feeling her move and feeling her react to my change in movement.


Like I said, I just had a really good week.  My stomach is majorly compressed these days and eating 3 normal sized meals during the day leaves me uncomfortable and full.  Switching to mini-meals has really helped with my digestion and comfort level.  Below is a typical day of eating for me:

7:30 AM: Spinach smoothie and 2 scrambled eggs

10:00 AM: a small bowl of cereal or 2 apples with PB

Noon: a bowl of soup (love love love Amy’s Lentil Veggie!)

1:30-2ish: raw veggies and crackers with hummus.  This is typically my biggest helping of the day so it holds me over until dinner time.

6-7ish: a small helping of whatever Stephen and I make for dinner.  Last night Stephen made butternut squash risotto.  SO GOOD! I could only stomach a small bowl before having the rice make me feel incredibly full, but I savored every bite.

9ish: a bowl of popcorn, some fruit, or a small bowl of cereal before bed.  I used to avoid eating before bed like the plague.  But with pregnancy I have found it helps me sleep through the night better.  If I do not have a snack I will wake up at 3AM absolutely starving.

Getting to bed at a reasonable hour has also really helped!  I am actively listening to my body and resting when I need to.    I find I have the most energy in the morning, so getting my 3 mile walk in before work has worked out best this past week.  I even walked 4 miles one day!  Or as I like to put it, I walked the 8 months pregnant half marathon.

All in all, a great week pregnancy wise.  I hope the rest of them are just like this!
