Wow, I cannot believe I am already 24 weeks along in this pregnancy. Time has flown by to say the least. I was lucky (well, in my mind) an popped very early. I have loved rubbing my belly and wearing maternity clothes since very early on!
According to my sources (What to Expect and Baby Center) baby girl is now the size of an ear of corn !! Weighing in at a full 1.5 pounds (I don’t think I have ever had an ear of corn that weighed that much though?!) and 8.5 inches long. I totally believe there is 1.5 pounds of baby in there. This ish gets heavy by the end of the day! She is moving and grooving all day long (training for her first marathon no doubt) and I love that her movements are so district at this point, and not just bubbles.
I have been feeling really good since the end of the first trimester. While I was never sick, there were a few days when I woke up feeling like I had consumed one too many glasses of wine. Luckily, I have plenty of practice in how to deal with this feeling (bacon egg and cheese on a roll from Market Street Deli anyone?). I have been trying to stick to healthy foods with some indulgences, and overall I am pretty proud of the way I have been eating. No notable cravings this week, but earlier in pregnancy they ranged from eating 17 apples a day, to binge eating grapes, to only wanting pancakes with lots of butter and syrup.
I am still running (!!!). Thank God. I was consistently running 5 miles 3 times a week until a little while ago. Now my runs are more of a run 2, walk 2 deal. I have also added other walks, wall push ups, tri dips, lunges, squats, and leg lifts in addition to lots of prenatal yoga.
Week 24 in a nutshell…
weight gained: 14 pounds total (per doctors scale on Monday)
stretch marks: NOPE!! thank god. hopefully I will be avoiding this phenomenon.
mood: so overwhelmingly happy I find myself having to go into the bathroom at work just to compose myself
things I miss the most: dippy eggs, pumpkin beer, locks with cream cheese, brie.
